USTA Facility Service Grant Helps Fund Project

Over the summer, the Town of Milton’s Parks and Rec department took the initiative to renovate the tennis courts at Bombardier Park. This long-deserved makeover was a major investment that honored Milton’s tennis-playing and pickleball crowd. Cracked and in disrepair, the four tennis courts did not offer families, students, and racquet sports fans a safe place to compete and learn. Now, three dangerously uneven tennis courts have been resurfaced, with the fourth converted to four pickleball areas.

The total cost of $57,800 and was met with the assistance of a USTA Facility Services grant, and a $20,000 State of Vermont Recreational Facilities grant. Assistant Recreation Director and avid player Ben Nappi notes that the town is very pleased with the outcome and is excited to see many happy players getting into the swing of things when the outdoor season begins in 2024.
